1. cmr01686.gif Trout Creek sandstone near the head of Spring Gulch. The rocks above the sandstone were colored a brilliant red by the burning of large coal beds lying from 0 to 300 feet above the heavy sandstone. Moffat County, Colorado. 1926. ID. Campbell, M. R. 1686

2. cmr01687.gif Newly cut arroyo at the head of Dunstan Gulch. Trout Creek sandstone outcrops in the hill. This arroyo is only a few hundred feet long and was cut in a steep slope separating two flats in the alluvium filled gulch. Routt County, Colorado. 1926. ID. Campbell, M. R. 1687

3. cmr01688.gif Cliff of Twentymile sandstone at the head of Long Gulch. this bed is particularly heavy at this locality, measuring more than 100-feet in thickness. It is in reality a group of sandstones and immediately on top of the uppermost member of the group is a bed three or four feet thick composed almost entirely of crushed shells. Routt County, Colorado. 1926. ID. Campbell, M. R. 1688

4. cmr01689.gif Newly cut arroyo in Peck Gulch. A man living in this gulch stated that his brother was in the gulch ten years ago and that there was no sign of the arroyo at that time. Moffat County, Colorado. 1926. ID. Campbell, M. R. 1689

5. cmr01690.gif Remarkably straight slope of Jeffway Gulch, looking downstream near its mouth. The slope is at the same angle from top to bottom and cut in the lower part of the Mesaverde or Iles Formation. Moffat County, Colorado. 1926. ID. Campbell, M. R. 1690

9. cmr01694.gif View of head of Stokes Gulch, taken from knob on ridge in the NW1/4, Sec. 9, T. 5 N., R. 89 W. Lowest white sandstone is Twentymile, which is exposed only at the extreme head of the gulch. another white sandstone shows about 300-feet above the Twentymile. Routt County, Colorado. 1926. ID. Campbell, M. R. 1694

10. cmr01695.gif North end of Sage Creek anticline looking north from high ridge in center of Sec. 14, T. 5 N., R. 88 W. Twentymile sandstone shows on both flanks of the fold. Routt County, Colorado. 1926. ID. Campbell, M. R. 1695

11. cmr01696.gif North end of Sage Creek anticline as seen from the high knob in SW1/4, Sec. 14, T. 5 N., R. 88W. the unsymmetrical shape of the anticline is clearly brought out in this view, the rocks having a dip on the west flank of about 45 degrees and only 6 or 8 degrees on the east flank. Routt County, Colorado. 1926. ID. Campbell, M. R. 1696

12. cmr01697.gif Upper Reservoir on Sage Creek as seen from a point on the south of Section 14, T. 5 N., R. 88 W., where it crosses A high ridge trending north and south. The Twentymile sandstone is exposed beyond the reservoir. Routt County, Colorado. 1926. ID. Campbell, M. R. 1697

13. cmr01698.gif Twentymile sandstone on the west side of Sage Creek anticline as seen from the northwest corner of Sec. 16, T. 5 N., R. 88 W. The sandstone is very conspicuous on account of its color and thickness and dips about 12 degrees to the west. Routt County, Colorado. 1926. ID. Campbell, M. R. 1698

14. cmr01699.gif Twentymile sandstone on west side of the Sage Creek anticline as seen from a point in Sec. 16, T. 5 N., R 88 W., looking west. The sandstone dips away from the observer at an angle of about 12 degrees. Routt County, Colorado. 1926. ID. Campbell, M. R. 1699

15. cmr01700.gif In the locality just described in image 1699, the sandstone tends to weather in irregular pinnacles. These are shown in this image (1700), which is taken from the locality near that at which image 1699 was taken. Routt County, Colorado. 1926. ID. Campbell, M. R. 1700
